Darryl Rogers was the head of Michigan State football from 1976 to 1979. Darryl Rogers made three helmet design changes in the four years he was head coach, with the final helmet protecting the player with a white facemask, a color that is still used today.

Darryl Rogers’ final record at Michigan State was 24 - 18 - 2. He was awarded Big Ten Coach of the Year in 1978.
