Mark Dantiono introduced traditional style uniforms modeled after the championship teams in Spartan history
John L Smith
John L Smith removed the stripe from the helmet (major break with tradition that went back as far as 1932) and reintroduced green away pants
Bobby Williams
Bobby Williams kept the style Saban passed down to him before tweaking the helmet in 2001 and in 2002, Williams introduced a widely unpopular design
Nick Saban
Nick Saban put the Spartan head back on the metallic green helmets and introduced a new Michigan State font that was used until 2006
George Perles
George Perles outfitted the Spartans to look like the previous team he was the assistant head coach for, the Pittsburgh Steelers
Frank 'Muddy' Waters
Frank "Muddy" Waters retained the look that Darryl Rogers team wore and introduced green away pants his final season
