Traditional style uniforms modeled after the championship teams in Spartan football history.

Helmet

  • Metallic green helmet
  • One-inch white center stripe
  • Michigan State Helmet Logo
  • White facemask
  • Big Ten Conference logo over the nose bumper
  • One-and-one-half inch player numerals on the back – numerals placed on each side of the center stripe
  • United States flag sticker on back, placed to the right of the center stripe
  • Block S Logo stickers on back, with players filling up the left side of the center stripe before they add them to the right side


Jersey

  • Green jersey
  • White “MICHIGAN STATE” appears above the player numerals – font reminiscent of the 1965 & 1966 national championship teams
  • White solid color player numerals on front
  • Nike logo on left shoulder
  • V-neck color and sleeve trim are the same as jersey colors
  • White solid color TV numbers on side of shoulders
  • White player last names on the back above the player numerals
  • White solid color player numerals on back
  • White Michigan State Helmet Logo above the player last names


Pants

  • White pants
  • Nike logo on upper right leg
  • Michigan State Helmet Logo on the front of the upper left leg
  • Same pants used for home and away games

Jersey

  • White jersey
  • Green “MICHIGAN STATE” appears above the player numerals – font reminiscent of the 1965 & 1966 national championship teams

2007 Mid-Season Changes

For the Michigan State vs. Boston College game on December 28, 2007 (24 – 21 Loss), Michigan State wore a Champs Sports Bowl patch on the right shoulder.

2008 Season Changes

Home Pants

  • A wide, green stripe was added to the pants worn for the home games


2008 Mid-Season Changes

For the Michigan State vs. Georgia game on January 1, 2009 (24 – 12 Loss), Michigan State wore a Capital One Bowl patch on the right shoulder.

2009 Season Changes

Helmet

  • During the 2009 season, Michigan State wore a state of Michigan decal on the back of the helmet – the decal, dubbed “Silver Lining” was intended to demonstrate that Michigan State University was committed to ensuring a bright future for the residents of the state of Michigan


2009 Mid-Season Changes

For the Michigan State vs. Texas Tech game on January 2, 2010 (41 – 31 Loss), Michigan State wore a Valero Alamo Bowl patch on the right shoulder.
