The helmet featured white block-style player numerals and three stripes.

Helmet

  • Kelly green helmet
  • Three stripes: one-inch white center stripe, one-inch between half-inch white striping
  • White three-inch “full block” style player numerals on both sides – the design for the Spartan head logo was not ready in time for the 1976 season
  • Kelly green facemask


Jersey

  • “MICHIGAN STATE” appears above the player numerals – font reminiscent of the 1965 & 1966 national championship teams
  • Extra bold, solid color player numerals on front
  • Solid color TV numbers on side of the shoulders
  • Extra bold, solid color player numerals on back
  • No player last names on the back above the player numerals


Pants

  • White pants
  • Three stripes: green center stripe, one-inch between half-inch green striping
  • Same pants used for home and away games
