Jersey & Helmet Style

Facemasks were changed to green on the helmets.

Helmet

  • Kelly green helmet
  • White one-inch center stripe
  • White Oversized Spartan Head Logo with a black border on both sides – drawn by team member (and art major) Michael Hurd
  • Kelly green facemask – one of the first football programs (professional or college) to use colored facemasks matching the team’s colors.
  • White two-and-one-half-inch “charger” style player numerals placed on each side of the center stripe on back


Jersey

  • Green Jersey
  • White “MICHIGAN STATE” appears above the player numerals – font reminiscent of the 1965 & 1966 national championship teams
  • White solid color player numerals on front
  • White solid color TV numbers on the side of shoulders
  • No player last names on the back above the player numerals
  • White solid color player numerals on back


Pants

  • White pants
  • Single thick green stripe down the leg
  • Same pants used for home and away games


Away Uniform

  • White jersey
