1973 Michigan State Football Jersey & Helmet Style
The helmet featured the Oversized Spartan Head Logo. The logo was designed by team member, and art major, Mike Hurd.

- White Oversized Spartan Head Logo with a black border on both sides - drawn by team member (and art major) Michael Hurd: the new abstract Spartan head, although larger, was even harder to decipher within the sight-lines of the stadium compared to the preceding design.
- Gray facemask
- White two-and-one-half-inch "charger" style player numerals placed on each side of the center stripe on back
