The words “MICHIGAN STATE” on the jersey made its official debut in Michigan State football history.

Helmet

  • Kelly green helmet
  • White one-inch center stripe
  • White three-inch thin, rounded “charger” style player numerals on both sides


Jersey

  • “MICHIGAN STATE” appears above the player numerals for the first time – the font has changed several times over the next 47 seasons, but can be found on the present team’s uniforms
  • Solid color player numerals on front
  • White solid color TV numbers on side of shoulders
  • No player last names on the back above the player numerals
  • Solid color player numerals on back


Pants

  • White pants
  • One stripe: one-inch green striping
  • Same pants used for home and away games
